TWO SEATTLE ENTREPRENEURS JOIN FORCES TO TURN FEAR INTO LOVE
Companies give out shirts and blankets to encourage and enrich lives – just because.
Vancouver, BC, October 27, 2008 - At a time when many business owners are fearful about the economy and what may happen to their business, two Seattle women entrepreneurs are collaborating to give away hundreds of blankets and shirts with positive affirmations at the Women’s Expo 2008 at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre November 1st and 2nd. Friends Kristen Marie Schuerlein, founder of Affirmagy (www.affirmagy.com), and Lindsay Andreotti, founder of Ovel (www.getovel.com), both believe in the power affirmations can have in our daily lives.
“Lindsay and I were talking about how important it is having love in our lives, our families, and our communities. And then we realized we both had products that could spread love to hundreds of people - fast,” says Affirmagy founder Kristen Marie Schuerlein. “We wanted to replace the fear and doubt that are so pervasive these days. One of us said ‘let’s just give love now’ and it was like a light bulb went off.”
Affirmagy makes personal-sized blankets, called Affirmawraps, with affirmations and positive messages. Ovel makes wearable affirmations with a line of natural fiber clothing. Together, both companies are committed to sharing the power of affirmations to shape peoples’ attitudes and thoughts, and build an inspiring lifestyle.
“It just feels so great to be able to instantly make someone smile and positively impact their day. We all have the power to uplift and touch the lives of others,” says Ovel founder Lindsay Andreotti. “Now is the time to let people know how much they are loved - and we just wanted to start something!”
Ovel and Affirmagy plan to continue their collaboration at events in Seattle and Portland later this year.
